Venice Film Festival

Founded in 1932, the Venice Film Festival is the oldest film festival in the world, part of the Venice Biennale, which itself is one of the world's oldest exhibitions of art, created by the Venice City Council in 1893. Screenings take place in the historic Palazzo del Cinema on the Lungomare Marconi. The festival aims to raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. source
